Life demands that I spend my spare time in other ways than building and repainting Pinkys, photographing them and photoshopping comics. This is unlikely to change, and it’s past time I just admit that fact. 
I have not yet decided whether or not I will keep all the companions I’ve assembled and repainted, etc. If I’m not, I’ll post which of them are for sale.

Another repainted Pinky figure!
First, RIP to Nicholas Courtner, the actor who portrayed the Brigadier. Thank you, sir.
Second, I attended Gallifrey One last weekend. Amazing time, many new action figures, also new acquaintances. I was the steampunk UNIT gal. Pictures once my laptop is fixed. If you have pics of my costume, please send them my way, kay?
Third, my desktop computer is fixed, and it’s now time to take the laptop with Photoshop on it in for fixing. I’ve learned how to deactivate it first, just in case. Can’t be rebuying that program because the hardware bit the dust or the OS needed a reinstall, it’s just toooooo expensive. Hopefully next week, photos and new strips will start appearing again. -CF

I’ve been mucking about trying to get my smartphone wallplug charger cord working (it’s going iffy), my laptop to recognize USB devices and properly shut down again (no luck yet), and my desk PC with its recently installed new hard drive (see December post of weeks of Geek Squad crap).
Tomorrow, I’m going to my local computer store-and-repairs shop to get the PC issue addressed. After that’s settled, I hope they can save the laptop for a few more years of function. In the meantime, here are two pics of the repainting and knitting work that I’ve been doing over the last month.
To the left, you see TWTA’s Amy Pond figure with a laceweight merino scarf. The hair, shirt, and shoes of the constituent Pinky Street figure parts were repainted by hand with acrylics.
The Pinky Companion Crew Jan 2011
Here’s a ~current status picture of the state of the companion Pinky Street crew. Upper tier: Pinky-me and Kimiko. 2nd tier: Susan Foreman, Romana II (I think she’s staying a redhead rather than blonde, at least for now), Sarah Jane Smith. 3rd tier: Ace, Rose, caucasian Martha (I’m very nervous about repainting her face), bald Donna, and Amy Pond.
If I see any of you at Gallifrey One next month, huzzah! I hope to find several DW figures tfor TWTA there. Comment if you’re attending, too!

My computer was returned to me on Dec. 23. Several hundred dollars later. After a few seasonal obligations, I got back into the swing of things. I did some Pinky painting, even took color pics of all the gals. Last week, as I went to edit the pics, my laptop stopped reading USB memory devices, including my camera and flash drives. I use that laptop for Photoshop. If anyone has tips on how to get USB devices to be recognized again, please share them with me in a comment here.
In the meantime, not having the dough for more repairs this month, burning photo files to CD to get them onto and off of the laptop is mega-slowing me down. Hence, no comic so far this month. Hopefully a color pic of the gals next week, after a birthday celebration with my friends.

I just replaced my printer. Something has gone whiffy in installing the drivers, and now my PC is functionally a paperweight. All my spare computery time is going to fixing this, which is delaying the next TWTA. I have 3 finished scripts, ARGH! So I type to you from my slow old laptop. News as it comes. Wish me luck!
In better news, a Participation Prize from the contest means that Liz Shaw will be joining the cast very soon! 
Time to repaint Pinky bits is also being slowed down by the computer problem and the few good daylight hours for painting at this time of year, but the crew is slowly getting there!

I’m posting a bit early for the 23rd in my time zone, but I’d rather be a bit early for GMT than late for the day’s official start. Happy TARDIS Day, everyone! In TWTA news, acetoning and repainting of many of the companion Pinkys are underway, the need for most of that is less obvious in monochrome than in our miniature reality, which will return to color next time. Leela and Romana I are in the works, a new Pinky that would make a great Tegan is only up for pre-order, and a Brigadier figure is hack-n-whacked together from a Star Wars and a GI Joe figure but needs some molding bits on and repainting. Jack is still sulking about the last installment’s lack of steamy scenes with slinky dames; Kimiko is daydreaming about Benton, who also needs repainting; and I have more DW figures, Pinkys, and Pinky parts to acquire to fill in the cast. I’m hoping to fill the DW gaps at Gallifrey One in February. My first Gally. Squee!

As is traditional with web-comics, the first comic *ahem* fails to achieve the layout and graphics quality which one might expect or which will become normal in subsequent installments. Yes, it’s going to suck less in future. I can promise this based on the experience from the previous year-long photo-comic series I made while teaching myself Photoshop. Enjoy. -CF
