Chris! So glad we could help in your re-entry into gaming! As a childfree adult myself, I’d love to hear more about gaming at a child-safe home. No swearing?? I don’t think I’d last 10 minutes!

The DM has a 3ish year old and a baby. So far, the baby sleeps and the mom (who I’m told might play sometime but I doubt that will ever happen) and the grandma tend them, mostly. Sometimes I find myself thinking of the DM as that cabbie/mutant from Total Recall when he’s wearing that baby-sling-thingy across his chest and bouncing on his heels to keep her jiggling, but so far, it’s ok. This is clearly his weekly allotted “guy’s night”. I couldn’t live with the “OK, honey, this is your one night to maintain your sanity” kind of schedule, but they seem happy!
The no-swearing is a minor difficulty, even for a confirmed pottymouth like me. I have enough to keep my mind swirling with relearning the rules right now to prevent HOT DAMN kind of outbursts, for the most part. We’ll see after I feel less lost in the mechanics how that continues.
