TASCF-Ep52 1-Podoyear-Anniversary-Special-Episode
Episode 52: 1 podoyear anniversary.
Sept 14, 2007. Wowsa. Still all rights reserved. The first show aired on March 29, 2007. That means I’m averaging a show every 10.3 days. Not bad, CFS considered.
DragonCon was awesome (costumes, panels, podcasts, and time with my geeky tribe). I’m going back next year, budget permitting. I don’t think that I actually made a total idiot of myself in front of any of my podheroes, but I was totally at home with all my podbuddies, and I’m now feeling a little lonely without them.
Music from Michael W. Dean with his kind permission! Twice! Ode to a Cat and Too Many Babies (at the end). Check out his new blog and all his podcasts and music info at: http://www.askdollie.com
Rachel says hi from the zero-kids sushi party awhile back. I got to feel renowned, not-quite-famous even!
Ages ago, Ian Horner of the Dai-Cast (http://www.tiltyhouse.com/daicast/) gave me shout-outs for the 1-year.
Oooh! A question from the Computer King (Into the Dark podcast) and the origin of my nickname. Check out his podcast at http://www.computerkingonline.com/
I’m gonna pull a Jack Mangan (Deadpan podcast) and read my comments page. Hee! No jelly beans will be awarded.

Thanks to all the listeners who have sent me email or comments since I started asking for Episode 52 content. Happy 2-year anniversary to Teri’s childfree blog: http://purplewomenblog.blogspot.com/
Jason Adams (Random Signal, LuLu TV) has a picture of me and Susan Z of http://www.kulturekast.com/ in steampunkwear on his flickr. She had this magnificent outfit and monocle and ray gun! Just search Flickr for “Girl geniuses” and we come up.
BIG ANNOUNCEMENT (at __:___) Partially because my photos got more feedback in 2 weeks than 1.5 years of podcasting, partially because podcasting uses my limited free time and energy, partially because I don’t know if this show serves this community or not, *deep breath in* …and with the help of some of my podbuddies and even a podhero, I had decided to place TASCF on “indefinite hiatus” while I recovered and decided if I really had it in me to continue talking to the void. Then I went to DragonCon and (daaaaaaamnnnnnnnn youuuuuuu!) George and the science podcasters and all the podcast parties reinspired me. And I now feel kinda like a weenie and a jerk to those who counseled me in my hours of mentally strangled indecision. Sorry about that. So now I’m not podfading once I post all the interviews in the backlog, but I will take a short break and start interviewing people again. I know that seems like a non-announcement, but isn’t that better than the announcement I had planned? And I wanted to be honest with you guys about that.
Happy Stuff: DragonCon, definitely. The indoor flying place near me just opened. When I check it out, I’ll report back. http://www.iflysfbay.com/ Also: Sock dreams. http://www.sock-dreams.com/_shop/edit/index.php I ordered some feelmax sports-absorbent fabric toe socks and other warm fuzzies (their ribbed M-stripes are especially awesome!!) on a Monday night and they arrived that Thursday with free shipping. How awesome is that!?!?
OK, ya palookas and palookettes. Next show is gonna be the long overdue interview with George Hrab. Hrrrrrrraaaaaaaab, good Eastern name.

Any support via purchases at the The Adult Space Child Free/Getting By Associates Store is most appreciated, but it primarily makes it easier to make Happy Stuff easier to find for you guys.

If you liked “Ode to a Cat” you’ll probably love this:

My kitty was lying on my arm at the computer desk while I watched it…he was super interested in the kitty in the video. The guy who did the video has some other videos with the same cat…very funny.

I, for one, am very happy to hear that you’ve decided not to shut things down. I’m always happy to see a new podcast pop up in the ol’ iTunes window…
