Alive but voiceless
Well, I sound like Marge Simpson’s sisters, and it hurts. I missed work all last week- fever and shakes and the whole works. So the next podcast/audio blog will come out when I can do more than croak.
iTunes didn’t pick up the last aucio post. Pooh. It’s prbably another enclosure problem in the feed. Between repeated fixing the feed (ok, repeatedly asking RSS-skilled friends to fix my problems for me) and spending that time producing content, I choose the latter. So TASCF may become more of an audioblog that posts to iTunes when it works. I can’t keep asking for favors, and learning RSS skills rates faaaaaar below frosting cupcakes on my priorities list, you know?
I’m thinking of following Geek Counterpoint’s example (the best science podcast for the laymen/non-specialist- go through the archives and pick a few topics to try it out!) and offering an email-notification subscription service. When iTunes doesn’t pick up an episode within 24 hours of my posting it, I would send a direct link to the file and show notes to the people who sent me their email addresses. It would also be a way for me to reach you guys if my website just plain breaks. It’s just an idea at the moment, and of course I wouldn’t spam you or sell the addresses. What do you guys think? Do you use iTunes or something else? Do you not use the RSS feed at all- do you just stop by the site? Send me an email at podcast@gettingby.net and let me know, ok?
Trying to find a way to spend my podcasting time actually podcasting,
Chris the Fixed Kitty
