TASCF-Ep032 News Landslide, part 1

TASCF-Ep32 is here with the start of the news landslide that hit PubMed last week. Expect Mercury weeks for awhile. :)

First:
Planned Parenthood has a petition going against the appointee for the head of the nation’s family planning program. U.S. listeners, check it out at:
http://www.ppaction.org/campaign/keroackpetition2

And while trying to find the link for the show notes, I found this blog detailing this candidate’s history:
http://catharinechronicles.com/2006/11/because-nothing-honors-women-more-than.html

Then a Tamiflu side effects alert, the Women’s Barrier Method Review (based on the Narrigan paper), and the Ortho Evra package insert update from the FDA website. Every method has a failure rate (even surgical methods, although they’re very small), and I urge everybody out there to investigate their package inserts and talk to their docs if they’re concerned about their method.

Happy Stuff: Sold my clarinet to extend its useful life, have a vacation coming up, and I might just be breathing easier.

In my next post, more news and an interview!
